MiniMax H3 specs — every limit, and the day it last changed

Seventeen numbers, and none of them typed into this page. Each one is read out of the constant the generator enforces, so a limit that moves in the product moves here in the same deploy. The Changed column is the commit where that value last differed from the value before it — which is why most of these say August, and none of them says today.

What comes back

The shape of the clip. These are the options the generator offers and the ones the API accepts — anything outside them is refused before a credit is spent.

Output resolution
768P · 2K768P is the default and what the free clip renders at. 2K is the ceiling; there is no 4K on this model.
Aspect ratio
21:9 · 16:9 · 4:3 · 1:1 · 3:4 · 9:1621:9 carries no surcharge. It used to — the upstream bills per output second and ignores the shape, so the band was removed rather than kept as a markup with no cost behind it.
Clip length
4–15sWhole seconds, and fifteen is a hard ceiling rather than a segment of something longer. What you get back lands on a 17n+5 frame grid, so most lengths run a fraction over. 192 frames is the only whole second.

Three things this sheet deliberately does not date. Frame rate is not a setting — H3 returns 24 fps and neither the site nor the API offers another, so there is no value here that could move. Audio comes back at 32 kHz stereo for the same reason. And the frame grid, 17n+5, is the model's arithmetic rather than ours. A `Changed` column beside any of the three would be a date about a decision nobody made.

What resolution does MiniMax H3 output?

768P or 2K, and nothing else. 768P is the default, the tier the generator opens on and the one a free clip renders at; 2K is the ceiling. There is no 4K on this model, and a site offering you one is upscaling after the fact. The two differ in price by 1.625× per second, which is the ratio MiniMax's own list price differs by.

How long can a MiniMax H3 video be?

Four to fifteen seconds, and fifteen is hard — it is one clip, not the first segment of a longer render. The length you type is not always the length you get: H3 renders on a 17n+5 frame grid at 24 fps, so 15 seconds comes back as 362 frames, or 15.083 seconds. 192 frames — exactly 8.000 seconds — is the only whole second the grid offers, which matters if you are timing a cut or a title card to land on a beat.

What frame rate and audio does MiniMax H3 produce?

24 fps, always, regardless of what you sent in — a 60 fps source clip comes back at 24. Audio is 32 kHz stereo generated in the same pass as the picture rather than dubbed over it afterwards, which is why dialogue lands on the mouth. Neither is a setting, on this site or in the API, which is why neither appears in the table above: there is no value there that could change.

What image sizes and formats does MiniMax H3 accept?

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF, up to 30 MB per file and 64 MB for the whole request — a start frame, an end frame and the prompt share the second figure. Each side has to sit between 256 and 5,760 pixels and the aspect between 2:5 and 5:2. All of it is checked in the browser before anything uploads, so a photo that is too wide costs you a second rather than a generation.

How much does one MiniMax H3 clip cost?

Per-second rate × seconds, plus a flat 5-credit base fee for the clip. An 8-second 768P clip is 8 × 8 + 5 = 69 credits; the same clip at 2K is 8 × 13 + 5 = 109. Credits are priced from $9.9, and one credit is one cent of MiniMax's list price — so the arithmetic is checkable against a page we do not publish. A generation that fails is refunded automatically.

How often do these specs change, and how would I know?

Look at the dates. Most of this sheet has not moved since August; the rate rows moved on 3 September when the whole table was re-founded on MiniMax's published price, and the free-tier network cap moved on 5 September. None of those dates was typed. They come from replaying the git history of the four files these values live in and recording the commits where a value differs from the one before it — so a reformat does not move a date and neither does a comment.
